UIC. Udyog Ltd ("UIC. Udhyog" or "The company") is recognized as one of the most renowned and leading manufacturers of Steel Wires & Wire products in India. With advanced manufacturing units in Kalyani & Hooghly (West Bengal, India), they have steel wire production of 60,000 Metric- Ton per annum.
The first manufacturing unit was set up at Kalyani, West Bengal, which saw the commencement of commercial production in the year 2000. In 2006, a facility to manufacture Pins was established at Khanyan, West Bengal. Subsequently, in 2008, a facility for manufacturing woven sacks in Silvassa was established to cater to the demand from industries such as Sugar, Textile & Fertiliser industries. Wind Power Generation Turbines of 5 MW each were set up in the State of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu in 2007 and 2008, respectively. Additional facilities to manufacture 25,000 MTPA of steel wire were established at Khanyan in 2010.
A wide range of steel wire and wire products including Pre-stressed Concrete Wires, Earth Wires, ACSR Wires, and Cable Armour Wires are manufactured by the Company.
These products find applications in varied sectors such as Power, Railways, and Engineering, among others. The products are accredited with the Bureau of Indian Standards under various specifications, and the Company is approved as vendors/sub-vendors for Railways, NTPC, Power Grid Corporation, SEB etc.
